Best Time to Visit:
November – January can be the best time to visit, due to clear sky, the chance is high enough to get the best view.
Another time to join this trek from Mid of March – Mid of May. As during the month of March and April this trail becomes full of Rhododendron flowers.

Phoktey Dara Trek Overview
Phoktey Dara Singalila Pass is a beautiful trek in West Sikkim which offers a less pristine trail through dense forest of rhododendrons, oak and various species of trees. Unseen varieties of flora and fauna is visible during this trek. Achalley & Kalijhar campsites are one of the most beautiful campsites, where Sleeping Buddha can be witnessed so close that you can touch with your hands. And the best part of the Phoktey Dara trek is the summit view during the sunrise. Yes! On one side the sun is rising, while on another side you can witness the sleeping Buddha and yet another side provides a breath taking view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu. So 5 out of the 6 highest peaks in the world are clearly visible! This is undoubtedly among the best 360 degree view in Sikkim which will surely win your heart.
Short Itinerary
Day 1: NJP/BAGDOGRA TO UTTAREY
Appx 167 kms (6-7 hrs) drive from NJP to uttarey village, our base camp. Overnight stay at Homestay, Uttarey (6500ft).
Day 2: TREK FROM UTTAREY TO ACHALLEY/THULODHAP
After breakfast, start your Trek from Uttarey (6500 ft) to Achalley (7 kms/10000 ft), trekking time: approx 5/6 hours. This section is totally uphill. Overnight stay at Achalley/Thulodhap in camps.
Day 3: ACHALLEY/THULODHAP TO KALIJHAR
After breakfast start your trek from Achalley towards Kalijhar ( 7 kms/11800ft), around 5/6 hours. Kalijhar campsite is one of the beautiful campsites in this trek. Stay at Kalijhar.
Day 4: KALIJHAR TO PHALUT VIA SINGALILA PASS
Early morning summit to Phokteydara top(12,000 ft) and trek to Phalut via Singalila Pass. Singalila Pass (Altitude appx 12,247 ft) is the highest point of whole Singalila Range. Overnight stay at Phalut. Trek distance: 12-14 kms ridge walk, around 6/7 hours.
Day 5: PHALUT TO SAMANDEN/GORKHEY
Next day after breakfast trek from Phalut to Samanden (15 kms downhill, 4-5 hours) and rest day. Have some bonfire in the evening.
Day 6:
2 hours trek to Bhareng and then Bhareng to NJP drop (Almost 7 hrs drive).

- Staying at homestay in uttarey & in Samanden, camping during trek, all food during the trek from Day 1 dinner to Day 6 breakfast.
- All trekking and camping equipment, medical assistance and first aid kit.

How to Reach at basecamp?
The nearest Railway Station is New Jalpaiguri Junction or Siliguri Junction and Nearest Airport is Bagdogra Airport. From Siliguri junction only one/two shared jeeps are available to reach Uttarey directly on demand basis. However you can reach Jorethang from Siliguri Junction at around 7.30 am-8 am by shared jeeps. From Jorethang taxi stand, you can board shared jeeps at around 12 pm to reach Uttarey. It is better to contact us, where we will help you to keep your seats on those shared jeeps. It will take around 3 hours to reach Jorethang from Siliguri, and another 3 hours to reach Uttarey from Jorethang, so plan accordingly.
Siliguri to Uttarey Directly:
If you want to book a cab from Siliguri to Uttarey personally, then it will be possible on advance booking basis. The cab cost will be shared among all the trekkers joining for this trek and the cost will be paid directly to the driver.
Payment & Cancellation Policy:
- Book your slot with 30% advance payment and rest of the payment can be done on or before 30 days of the departure date.
- Any trekker tested positive for Covid-19 before joining the trek, his/her trek fee will be carried forward for 1 year to avail any of our treks.
- Due to any reason if we have to cancel our trek plans, you will be notified and you will get the full refund.
- Cancellation done 30 days before the departure date, get 90% refund of the full trek fee or get full fee back by book with us for the next trek or batch.
- Cancellation done between 30 days to 20 days before the departure date, get 70% refund or get 90% full fee back by book with us for the next trek or batch.
- Cancellation done between 10 days to 20 days before the departure date, get 50 % refund or get 60% full fee back by book with us for the next trek or batch.
- Cancellation done less than 10 days before the departure date, no refund will be provided or get 40% full fee back by book with us for the next trek or batch.
